Accel HLD5 Acellerated Hydrogen Peroxide

In the war against microbes, Accel® Disinfectants are the first Accel HLD5 line of defense for Infection Prevention. Accel® provides comfort and confidence that commonly touched surfaces and instruments are rendered safe to use. Accel HLD5 is designed for use in instrument and device reprocessing of semi‐critical and critical devices where a high level disinfection and rapid contact time are required PREVention carries a 5 minute high level disinfection claim against bacteria, viruses, fungi , mycobacteria and spores.

 

EFFICACY OF ACCEL HLD5

SPORICIDAL (6 hours at 20°C): Bacillus subtilis, Clostridium sporogenes

TUBERCULOCIDAL (5 min at 20°C): Mycobacterium terrae

FUNGICIDAL (5 min at 20°C): Trychophyton mentagrophytes

BACTERICIDAL (5 min) at 20°C : Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella choleraesuis

VIRUCIDAL (5 min at 20°C): Poliovirus, Sabin strain type 1, which allows for a General Virucide claim against most enveloped and non‐ enveloped viruses.

 

DIRECTIONS FOR USE (HEAVILY SOILED SURFACES REQUIRE CLEANING PRIOR TO DISINFECTION)

CRITICAL ITEMS: Chemosterilization for instruments and devices that come in contact with sterile tissue, the blood stream & recirculating body fluids – such as surgical instruments and foot care instruments. Place pre‐cleaned, rinsed and dried instruments into a container of undiluted Accel HLD5. Allow the instruments to soak for at least 6 hours. Remove and rinse with sterile water. SEMI‐CRITICAL ITEMS: High‐Level Disinfection for instruments and devices that come in contact with non‐intact skin or mucous membranes that are not normally considered sterile such as respiratory equipment, surgical mirrors etc. Place pre‐cleaned, rinsed and dried instruments into a container of undiluted Accel HLD5. Allow the instruments to soak for at least 5 minutes. Remove and rinse with sterile or potable water. (See Notice To User)

14 DAY RE‐USE CLAIM: This solution may be used and re‐used for up to 14 days. Solution in its original packaging is good until date of expiry. Test Strips (AHP2) for confirming the active ingredient and the stability of Accel HLD5are available.

NOTICE TO USER: Please ensure the instruments, equipment or device material to be disinfected is compatible with Accel HLD5. Compatible materials include: acrylic, silicone rubber, low & high density plastics and rigid stainless steel instruments (visit the Compatibility Section on www.virox.com for a full list of compatible materials). Continuous exposure to copper and brass should be avoided.

Accel HLD5 is not recommended for use on carbon steel and anodized aluminum. If you are uncertain as to the material composition of the device or instrument, confirm with the manufacturer before proceeding
